Notes: It was Jawaharlal Nehru who drafted the Quit India Resolution. On 7 to 8 August 1942, in the meeting of the All India Congress Committee at Gowalia Tank Maidan (Mumbai) the resolution was drawn up and passed. Gandhiji stated, nothing is going satisfy him other than the complete independence and raised his slogan “Do or die” to the nation.
