Notes: Kalidas Madhu Sadhwani helped Yusuf Adil Shah in establishing his power as a Sultan, independent from Bahmani Sultanate. He was a Bijapuri general. He was a Bahmani nobleman from a family with military traditions. His father was a commander in the army of Ahmadnagar sultan. In 1489 , Yusuf Adil Shah decided to create Bijapur as an independent kingdom but Mahmud II, the Bahmani Sultan was against this and he sent his troops to defeat Yusuf Adil Shah. This was called as the Battle of Gadag. Troops of Adil Shah alongwith Kalidas Madhu Sadhwani defeated Bahmani's army.
