Notes: Karnat or Karnata dynasty was a Maithili dynasty established in 1097 CE. This dynasty was believed to be a part of Chalukya dynasty of South. Although debatable, Nanyadeva is considered as the founder of this dynasty. Hari Singh Dev or Hari Simha deva, the sixth ruler and also the last ruler of this dynasty fled from his fort when he heard the news of Ghiyasudin Tughlaq approaching towards the fort. He fled towards Nepal and his descendants later founded the Malla dynasty of Nepal.
