Guru Nanak (1469-1539) was the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikhism. Born in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib, Pakistan), he was a Nirguna Bhakti Saint and social reformer. He traveled to spread teachings on God's oneness, human equality, and rejected caste. He established Langar (community kitchen) for social equality. His hymns are in the Guru Granth Sahib.
