Notes: Krishna III (939 to 967 CE) was engaged in a struggle against the Paramaras of Malwa and the Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi. In about 949 CE, he annexed the northern part of the Chola empire after defeating the Chola king Parantaka I. He set up a pillar of victory in Rameshwaram and also built a temple.
