Notes: Borgeet is a collection of lyrical songs. Composed by Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavadeva in the 15th-16th century, it is used to initiate prayers in monasteries. The songs are very popular in Assam along with Uttar Pradesh and Bihar region. The technique of Borgeet follows the Prabandha Gana tradition, which is contemporary with the Dhrupad and Kriti of Hindustani and Carnatic music.
