The Negev is an arid region that spans the southern part of Israel and occupies almost half of Palestine west of the Jordan River.
The Karakum desert is translated as “Black Sand” and is one of the largest deserts in Central Asia and on Earth. It occupies about 70 percent of the area of Turkmenistan.
The Kyzylkum Desert means Red Sand in Turkic languages. It is located in Central Asia, in the land between the confluent rivers Amu Darya and Syr Darya, a region historically known as Transoxania. Today it is divided between Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
