Notes: The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) recently dissolved the 14-member Standing Committee on Economic Statistics (SCES). The SCES had overlapping functions with the Steering Committee for National Sample Surveys (NSS). The SCES was established in 2019 as a temporary body to address critical issues in statistics. It was funded by the Government of India through MoSPI budget allocations. Its objectives were to advise the government on survey methodology, sampling design, and to finalize survey tabulation plans.
