Lake Tanganyika of African Great Lakes forms the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania. This lake is shared by Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Zambia. This lake drains into the Congo River system and finally to the Atlantic Ocean. It is the second-largest freshwater lake in the world by volume. It is also the second-deepest lake in the world. It is the world's longest freshwater lake. It is the largest rift lake in Africa situated within the Albertine Rift. It is a Ramsar Wetland.
