Railway Passenger Coaches in India are principally manufactured in Perambur. Perambur, located in Chennai, hosts the Integral Coach Factory of the Indian Railways. This facility, set up in 1952, leads the production of railway coaches in India, although there are other manufacturing units in various parts of the country. The Integral Coach Factory in Perambur also has the distinction of being the oldest and largest railway coach manufacturing unit in Asia.
