Notes: Clement Attlee was the Prime Minister of England during 26 July, 1945 – 26 October, 1951 when India attained independence. He supervised the process by which India was partitioned into India and Pakistan in 1947. He also arranged the independence of Burma (Myanmar), and Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
