Badami Chalukya Dynasty
The Badami Chalukya Dynasty, which reigned from the 6th to 8th centuries CE in parts of southern India, was the patron of the Aihole inscription. This insightful Sanskrit inscription, dated back to 634 CE, is among the earliest known Kannada language inscriptions. Not only does it offer significant historical details about the dynasty but it also sheds light on the genealogy and military conquests of the early Chalukya king Pulakeshin I.
