Notes: World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June to raise awareness about protecting the environment. It is observed in over 150 countries, making it the largest global platform for environmental action. The 2025 theme is “Putting an End to Plastic Pollution.” This theme supports the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)-led campaign called #BeatPlasticPollution. In 2025, the event is being hosted by the Republic of Korea.
