The Gavari dance-drama of Bhils has its origin in the story of Shiva and Bhasmasur. It is a 40-day long festival celebrated in July and September of each year in the Mewar region of Rajasthan, India. Among Gavari's many mythic dramas, two of the most popular and often repeated are Badalya Hindawa (The Banyan Swing) and Bhilurana (King of the Bhils).
