Notes: Under the reign of Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq, the taxation system was according to the principles of Quran. As per Shariat law,  only four kind of taxes were imposed on public viz. Kharaj, Zakat, Jaziya and Khams. He imposed irrigation tax after getting it  sanctioned from the Ulema.
