Notes: The government launched the Palna Scheme under Mission Shakti to offer day-care crèche support for children of working mothers and promote Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. Introduced in 2022, it replaced the National Creche Scheme and falls under the ‘Samarthya’ sub-scheme of Mission Shakti. It aims to provide safe, quality care for children aged 6 months to 6 years, covering all mothers, whether employed or not. States and union territories will also explore online registration in partnership with Labour and Employment Departments.
