Lake Esrum is located in the Zealand Island of Denmark. It is formed probably as a "Kettle Hole". This lake is the largest lake in Denmark by water volume and second-largest lake in Denmark by surface area after Lake Arreso. It is bordered by Gribskov Forest to the west and Fredensborg Palace to the southeast. It is included in the Royal North Zealand National Park.
