Notes: The Chota Nagpur Plateau covers much of Jharkhand and also parts of several states viz. Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. Its north-east side is Indo-Gangetic plain while its south side is the Mahanadi river. Total area of Chota Nagpur Plateau is approximately 65,000 KM².
