Aland Islands is an archipelago province located at the entrance to the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea, which is placed under the sovereignty of Finland. This province is the only monolingually Swedish-speaking region in Finland. Aland Islands is an autonomous province of Finland in which those provincial powers normally exercised by a representative of the central Finnish government are largely exercised by the Landskapsregering government of Aland through its parliament, Lagting.
