Rani Rampal, Indian hockey icon, retired after a 14-year career, starting as the youngest team member at 14. Known as the "queen of Indian women’s hockey," her jersey number 28 was retired in her honor. She led India to a historic fourth-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and won the Asia Cup in 2017, ending a 13-year title drought. Rani also earned a silver at the 2018 Asian Games. Her awards include Arjuna Award (2016), World Games Athlete of the Year (2019), Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, and Padma Shri (2020). She achieved over 250 international caps and scored more than 200 goals.
