The drainage pattern of Bihar can be divided into three parts:
i) Drainage of rivers merging in Ganga from North
ii) Drainage of the rivers emerging from the Plateau and merging in Ganga
iii) Drainage of the rivers emerging from the Plateau and flowing towards east and South Bihar.
Saryu(Ghaghra), Gandak, Buri Gandak, Bagmati, Kamla, Balan, Kosi and Mahananda are the rivers which merges with Ganga from North
