Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
Recently, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) made it mandatory for all private and public-sector organisations with digital infrastructure to undergo a third-party cybersecurity audit once a year. This is the first time such an annual audit has been mandated by CERT-In to strengthen national cyber safety. CERT-In is the national nodal agency under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for handling cybersecurity incidents. It is responsible for incident response, issuing advisories, alerts, guidelines, and coordinating cyber activities. It serves the entire Indian cyber community, including government, private sector, and individuals.
