Notes: Besides films, Soumitra Chatterjee has continued acting in Kolkata based Bengali theatre. He is a poet and his 12 poetry books are already published. Soumitra received The Officier des Arts et Metiers, the highest award for arts from France and Lifetime Achievement Award from Italy. He won National Film Award for Best Actor for ‘Podokhep’ in 2007. In 2012 he was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
