Notes: Kusheshwar Bird Sanctuary is situated in Darbhanga. Darbhanga is located in Gangetic plains of Mithilanchal in North Bihar. This city is well known for its art and culture and literal traditions. It  is also famous for its natural attractions. Kusheshwar Asthan Bird Sancuatry is one of the most famous tourist spots in Darbhanga. Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary is spreaded over 7019.75 acres. It is  unification of 14 water logged villages situated in Kusheshwarasthan block which comes under Biraul sub-division of Darbhanga region. All these villages when combined have been declared as Kushwshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary due to ecological, geomorphological, faunal, floral and natural importance of whole area. This area got status of Bird Sanctuary under Wild Life Protection Act 1972 (as amended upto 1991).
