Daskathia is a form of folk theatre popular in Odisha. In this form, there are two narrators - Gayaka, who is the chief singer and Palia, who is the narrator. The narration is accompanied by a piece of dramatic music composed using a wooden musical instrument called kathia. Shiva is worshipped in such a form that is manifested completely and thus, the clothes of presence are as beautiful as Shiva, Rudra, Mahadev, Shankar and Prabhanath etc. There is also praise for the glory of deities like Vishnu, Krishna, Ganesha, Durga and Kali etc. The performance of Daskat has natural qualities.
