Notes: Bandipur Yuva Mitra project is a nature education program for students. The program aims to create awareness about forests and wildlife. The program was launched by Union Forest Minister Bhupender Yadav for students of government schools in Chamarajanagar district. The program includes a free wildlife safari for around 10,000 students from 800 schools. The program was jointly organized by NMNH and Banipur Tiger. The Bandipur Tiger Reserve was established in 1973 under Project Tiger. The reserve is located in the Western Ghats landscape complex. It has an estimated tiger population of about 382.
