Abdul Ghaffar Khan
When Abdul Ghaffar Khan, a devout disciple of Mahatma Gandhi, was arrested on 23 April 1930, angry crowds demonstrated in the streets of Peshawar, facing armoured cars and police firing. He was arrested after giving a speech in Utmanzai urging resistance to British rule.
