The Krishna River, located in south-central India, is the fourth largest river in terms of water inflows and basin size, following the Ganga, Godavari, and Brahmaputra. Originating near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra, about 64 km from the Arabian Sea, it flows through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh before emptying into the Bay of Bengal at Hamasaladeevi, Andhra Pradesh.
