Notes: Inayat Khan was a historian in the Mughal Empire. In his book Shah Jahannama, he described the life of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Inayat Khan was born in 1628, the same year the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan ascended the throne. In 1635, in the seventh year of his life, as he tells us, he received the "right mansab." He was sent there to visit his father while he was the Mughal governor in Kashmir. He later held the office of "Superintendent" and later in the Imperial Library.
