Answer: Waryam Singh Sandhu
Notes: Waryam Singh Sandhu, born 1945, won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2000 for his Punjabi short story collection Chauthi Koot. Two stories were adapted into the film The Fourth Direction (2015). He returned his award in 2019 as protest. He retired as a lecturer from Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.
