Recently, the Union Education Ministry formed a panel led by Vineet Joshi to reduce student dependency on coaching centres and review competitive exams. Vineet Joshi is the Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The panel has nine members and includes representatives from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, National Institute of Technology Trichy, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), along with school principals. Its goal is to suggest ways to reduce the coaching culture and check the fairness of entrance exams.
