The book's purpose was to be a history of the first Muslim millennium. The book was compiled by a committee appointed by Akbar in 1582 CE. The committee was headed by Maulânâ Ahmad. The committee drew upon earlier Persian histories to write the book. The book is also known as History of the Millennium. It was written between 1582 and 1588.
