Notes: The Cenepa War, also known as Alto Cenepa War, was fought between Ecuador and Peru from 26 January to 28 February 1995 over the control of an area in Peruvian territory near the border between two countries in the Upper Cenepa river valley. The war resulted in the negotiated ceasefire and withdrawal of troops from the combat zone with the signing of "Reiteration of the commitment to stop an immediate and effective ceasefire" after the guarantor countries established a demilitarised zone.
