Notes: Prithivi Narayan Shah was the last ruler of the Gorkha Kingdom, present-day Nepal, and first monarch of Kingdom of Nepal. After conquering all the small kingdoms of Nepal in the mid-eighteenth century, King Prithvi Narayan Shah moved his capital to Kathmandu from Gorkha and named the newly created empire, Nepal.
