Aitchison Commission
In the year 1886, Aitchison Commission was appointed. Sir Charles Umpherston Aitchison was the chairman of the committee. The objective of the committee was to fulfill the demand of Indians to higher and more extensive employment in public service. As per the recommendation of the committee, the statutory civil service was abolished and it recommended a Provincial Civil Service in 1888.
