Ellora caves are one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites situated at the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India. It is one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple cave complexes in the world, featuring Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments, and artwork, dating from the 600– 1000 CE period. There are five Jain caves at Ellora belong to ninth and tenth centuries, Digambara section. 34 magnificent rock-cut monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2km, were dug side by side in the wall of high basalt cliff.
