Loess Plateau is a plateau located in China. It is 1250-2000 metres above sea level. It is bounded by the Yellow River's Ordos Loop and its tributaries such as Wei and Fen Rivers. It was one of the earliest locations of Chinese Civilization. Erosion of silt from Loess Plateau and Yellow River floods lead to the great fertility of the North China Plain.
