One of the ancient martial arts of Manipur, Chebi Gad-ga involves fighting using a sword and shield. It has now been changed to a stick surrounded by soft leather instead of a sword and leather shield. The competition takes place in a circle 7 feet wide on a flat surface. Inside the circle, there are two lines, 2 meters apart. The length of the 'cheebi' rod is between 2 and 2.5 feet, while the shield is about 1 meter wide. Victory in this tournament is achieved according to the points earned during the duel. Points are awarded based on vicious abilities and strengths.
