Notes: When Gandhiji started the individual Satyagraha against the British in 1940, Vinoba Bhave was selected as the first individual Satyagrahi. He started the Satyagraha from Pavnar, Maharashtra, where he had been active since 1921. Gandhi personally went to Pavnar Ashram to seek his consent for the Individual Satyagraha.
