Notes: Billwamangal (the first film of Bengal, ever) was produced by the Madan Theatre Company of Kolkata and released on 8th November, 1919, only six years after the first full-length Indian feature film, Raja Harish Chandra was released. Despite the wide variety of the subjects, silent Bengali cinema did not match the height that silent cinema had done in the West.
