Dominican Republic
The Yaque del Norte River is located in the island country of the Dominican Republic in the Hispaniola Islands of the Greater Antilles Archipelago in the West Indies-Caribbean region. This river is the longest river in the Dominican Republic. The source of the river is Cordillera Central Mountain Range and then flows through the Cibao valley and joins the Atlantic Ocean in Manzanillo Bay. This river forms the drainage basin for the north-west of the country and is economically important as a source of irrigation for rice farming and other agriculture. Tavera Dam forms the reservoir of this river to generate electricity.
