Uttarakhand inaugurated its first wine production unit in Kotdwar under its new excise policy to promote wine tourism. Wine tourism offers visitors tours of wine units, insights into wine history and production, and tasting experiences. Guest houses are being developed near wine units to enhance tourism, showcasing the region's scenic beauty. Uttarakhand's abundant fruits like malta, apples, buransh flowers, pears, and galgal will be used for wine production. A private wine unit in Kotdwar is operational, and new units are planned for Bageshwar and Champawat.
