Notes: Karbi People's Liberation Tigers (KPLT) is a terrorist group in India. The group was formed in 2011 by 25 members of the Anti-Talks Factions of Karbi Longri North Cachar Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF-ATF). The KPLT split from the KLNCHLF to continue the armed struggle and oppose peace talks. The Karbi people are an indigenous tribe from Northeast India. They are believed to have migrated from the Kuki-Chin area in Western Myanmar. The Karbis are the main tribe in the Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts of Assam. They also inhabit other areas of Assam, including DimaHasao, Kamrup, Marigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Karimganj, and Sonitpur. The Karbi people are a patrilineal society with five major clans. The clans are Engti (Lijang), Terang (Hanjang), Enghee (Ejang), Teron (Kronjang), and Timung (Tungjang).
