The French under Dupleix aligned with Chanda Sahib (Carnatic/Arcot) and Muzaffar Jung (Hyderabad). The English under Robert Clive supported Anwaruddin and his son Mohammed Ali (Carnatic) and Nasir Jung (Hyderabad). In this war, Robert Clive emerged victorious and the war came to an end with the Treaty of Pondicherry, signed in 1754.
