Notes: According to folklore, Raja Bhoja is said to have founded the city of Bhopal. He was the greatest ruler of the Pratihara dynasty . He is also said to have built the Upper Lake in Bhopal by constructing an earthen dam across the Kolans River. The lake was renamed Bhojtaal in 2011.
