Equatorial Guinea, located in Central Africa, hosts Elobey Chico Island among others. It is neighbored by Cameroon and Gabon and its western part faces the Bight of Biafra in the South Atlantic Ocean. This country has a unique island and mainland structure with insular regions housing Bioko Island and Annobon Island, and mainland, known as "Rio Muni", containing three offshore islands including Elobey Grande and Elobey Chico. Interestingly, Equatorial Guinea, whose official languages include Spanish, French, and Portuguese, is the only sovereign African country with Spanish as an official language.
