Q. Post the Anglo-Mysore wars, whom did the East India Company appoint as the Governor of Bengal?
Answer: Warren Hastings
Notes: Warren Hastings was appointed as the Governor of Bengal in 1772 following the First Anglo-Mysore war of 1767–1769. Hastings arrived in Madras shortly after the end of the First Anglo-Mysore War. The Treaty of Madras (29 March, 1769) which ended the war failed to settle the dispute and three further Anglo- Mysore Wars followed (1780–799). Later, he became the Governor-General of Bengal in 1773.
