Notes: Rohtas (7.92 lakh tonnes), Aurangabad (5.42 lakh tonnes) and Kaimur (3.54 lakh tonnes) are the top three rice producing districts in Bihar. The adoption of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) has augmented productivity of rice with higher water efficiency and greater resistance to environmental stresses. In 2017-18, the highest productivity of rice was recorded in Rohtas (4105 kg per hectare), while the lowest was observed in the district of Siwan (709 kg per hectare).
