Notes: President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the annual Madhavpur Mela, the five-day cultural fair, in the coastal village of Madhavpur in Gujarat. The fair celebrates the marriage of Hindu deity Lord Krishna with Rukmini. Similar events are being organised across Gujarat and in eight Northeast states. From 2018, in association with the Union Ministry of Culture, the Gujarat government started organising events during the fair.
