The puppet of Orissa is called Kundhei. Made of light wood, the dolls in Odisha have no legs, but they wear long skirts. They have more joints and, therefore, are more versatile, clear and easy to change. Puppets often have wooden support, which is triangular in shape with strings attached to it for manipulation. Kunde costumes are similar to the costumes worn by Jatra traditional theatre actors. The music is derived from the famous tunes of the region and is sometimes influenced by Odisha dance music.
